I read this article on the New York Times website first, but I forgot to save the url and lost it. The first article I read was a little more informative but it is very similar to the link below. The article is on the iPhone release in China and how the new iPhone 5c is the cheaper option to the iPhone 5s. The rates that we as Californians pay for a phone is expensive, but its not going to break the bank. Sadly, this isn't true for China. In the article the iPhone 5c was priced at 5,000 yuan ( $817). I read that and almost fainted! Maybe I am more shocked because I'm not aware of the average cost living in China, but it still (to me at least) is too damn high!

It's really funny with the price differnces, because I beleive we can get it for as low as $99 while in britan lowest price is something like 500 pounds ($800). As well you would think that since the iPone is manufactured in china, that they would be able to have some kinda of deal in terms of price.
ReplyDeleteThe most recent thing I've read is that the phone costs about 200 dollars to make. I wonder what the phone companies in other countries are like though. Maybe with the 2yr contract we have sign and pay monthly we are the ones who are paying more overall of the use of the phones after data charges ect.
